Bipac Hackathon Prize 2026

The Bipac Prize recognises and rewards interdisciplinary collaborations between research groups of Milano-Bicocca University involved in the Cultural Heritage field.

Objective

The Bipac Prize recognises and rewards interdisciplinary collaborations between research groups of Milano-Bicocca University involved in the Cultural Heritage field. This initiative wants to foster a collaborative research culture while empowering early-career researchers to assume leadership roles, widening the research lines highlighted in the published Annals of the Centre.

Prize

Award: €3000 for covering research activities
Two projects awarded annually

Project Duration

Projects must be completed within a maximum of 18 months

Eligibility

The competition is open to collaborative teams involving members from at least two research groups within two different University Departments. The PI belongs to Milano-Bicocca University; it is possible to involve members from others University or Research Centres. The proposals must demonstrate strong interdisciplinary collaboration and leadership of early-career researchers…

– Each applicant may apply to only one proposal to ensure an equitable distribution of opportunities
– RTD-A should act as project leaders; at least two of them should not have publications in common
– Researcher fellows may act as project leaders but should involve co-PIs with no joint publications
– Candidates must present an authorization letter signed by their PI

Application Process

Case for Support (20 points)
  • Addresses the scientific idea and highlights novelty, focusing on interdisciplinarity in Cultural Heritage (10 points)
  • Describes methodology and planned temporal evolution (10 points)
Ability to Deliver (20 points)
  • 1000 words, Times New Roman, 12pt, single-spaced, 1-inch margins
  • Plan for the award granted (10 points)
  • PI and co-PIs track records with evidence of ability to deliver (10 points)
Impact (10 points)
  • 500 words, Times New Roman, 12pt, single-spaced, 1-inch margins
  • Project impact on academia and researchers’ careers (10 points)

Assessment Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee of Bipac

How To Apply

To apply for the Bipac Prize, participants are required to attend the Hackathon in person.

The Hackathon will take place on 10 February at 14:00, at the Corridoio delle Scienze, Building U3-U4, Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca.

Participants are asked to present themselves directly at the venue.
Attendance will be registered on site, and the registration of participants at the Hackathon will constitute the formal expression of interest in taking part in the Bipac Prize initiative.
